WRITERS
Diane Schwemm is a writer and editor at CollegiateParent. Before raising three sons (now in their teens and 20’s), she earned an M.A. in English at the University of Chicago and wrote Young Adult series iction. In her free time she likes to read, bike, garden, hike in the Colorado foothills and mountains, and be with friends and family.
Suzanne Shaffer counsels students and families in the college admission process and the importance
of early college preparation through her blog, Parents Countdown to College Coach (www.parentscountdownto collegecoach.com). Her advice has been featured on Hufington Post, Yahoo Finance and U.S. News College and included in numerous books. In addition to CollegiateParent, Suzanne contributes regularly to TeenLife Online Magazine, College Focus and Noodle Education
and is the Parent College Coach for Smart College Visit. When not working, Suzanne enjoys spending time with two grandsons who keep her on her toes with their boyish antics and remind her that life is enhanced by joy and laughter.
Amanda Taylor holds an undergraduate degree in English from
the University of Colorado Boulder and a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver. She is a licensed clinical social worker with a private practice in Boulder where she works with various populations. Amanda enjoys reading, research, yoga, spending time with her son and daughter, and traveling. She writes about health and wellness for CollegiateParent.
